Back in 2021 when the second "wave of 10" began work to complete our 222 MHz
WAS, I authored a paper along with Charlie, N0AKC, and Al Ward, W5LUA that
was published in the 2022 Central States VHF Society Conference Proceedings.
Charlie also presented the paper at the 2023 CSVHFS conference. I believe it
was highlighted afterward when interest in 222 MHz WAS developed once again.
The paper hasn't been published or presented since the 2022 CSVHFS
conference however, it may be of interest to some of you now pursuing WAS on
222. This paper documents the history of the 220 MHz band, the first ten to
achieve WAS, and the efforts of the second group.

If you haven't had a chance to read it, I have now posted it on my website.
You may download it at:

GL to those currently in the hunt for 222 MHz WAS !!!
