Hello to all,
Worked this year's ARRL June contest from Green Mtn, 5200' elev, in
grid CN93pj, Lake County, Oregon on bands 50,144,222, 432. The xyl and I
camped out in beautiful weather, every day was a sun screen day. My
main purpose in going there was to give out a rare grid, especially for
those pursuing the FFMA award on 6 meters.
6 meters was open all four days I was there. On Friday had about 30 Q's
with the longest VE2XK in FN07. Saturday of the contest was slow
compared to Friday.
Sunday was unreal. The band opened for me with VE6JW, DO33, and
continued all day, right up to the end of the contest. Everyone wanted a
rare grid, the pile-ups were intense at times with many ops calling. Was
fun "Being" DX.
Especially enjoyed giving CN93 to FFMA leaders W5OZI and KB6NAN to help
narrow down their needed grids.
Contest Summary:
6M: 278Q's/115 Grids
2M: 40Q's/16 Grids
222: 12Q's/8 Grids
432: 12Q's/8 Grids
Total Q's: 342
Claimed Score: 53,802
