I answered Jim directly on this. A single turn of #43 is not very useful on 6M; two turns of #31 is close to ideal for 6M. With only a single turn (only one pass through the core) we would need a LOT -- at least 30 1-inch long cores, and more is better.

Photos in this link show what I had Hector, XE2K/AD6D, do for the same antenna that Jim is using.
