You need to define what you mean by "ring".
The antenna will see a conjugate match at 1.85MHz (not 2.24MHz) looking
back towards the station end, but I don't know if that's what you mean
by "ring"?

Hi folks - need some help. A shortened 160m vertical ground plane antenna
is cut and tested for a resonant frequency of 2.24 Mhz. The antenna is
matched near perfectly to 50 + 0j ohms at 1.85 Mhz using a shorted coax stub
of appropriate length placed at the appropriate location along the feedline.
With a 50 ohm dummy load attached to the station end of the feed line, will
the antenna be resonant (ring) when externally excited at 1.85 Mhz or 2.24
Mhz?
Thanks in advance for any insight you can offer.
