We are planning a KT-34XA GI Party this weekend at N6IJ, and Ken Teunis,
KK6CS, came up with a good idea for a tool to buff/polish the inside
radii, of the various aluminum clamps and tubes, that I thought I would
pass on, along with a question.
Ken suggests using gun barrel cleaners, chucked into a drill, and
spun inside the straps/tubing.
I worry about leaving traces of brass, copper, stainless, or other non
aluminum metals imbedded in the aluminum being cleaned. Any experience as
to what to avoid wrt metals that will corrode aluminum badly, when used at
buffing wheels?
