The proper way to insulate a guyed tower is to get a tapered bottom
section and use a single point porcelain insulator from Austin. You
have to construct a concrete pier with copper strap around it from the
base pier pin down to the ground system so the concrete has no
lightning voltage on it. The pier gets the bottom above grade for
water runoff. All of this is expensive for ham so what I would do is
construct the tower in the typical grounded fashion with a bottom
section resting on a base pin and skirt feed the tower with insulated
standoffs holding vertical wires, 3 equally spaced around the tower.
The standoffs can be some non-conductive material that is UV
resistant.
