There used to be a Loran C station at Cape Blanco, just south of Coos Bay.
They had a 1200 footer there and a 300 for a spare in case the big one blew
down. There were winds of over 100 mph quite often at Cape Blanco.
I visited a ham that was in the Coast Guard there and all the bands were
pretty useless with the Loran C crud. Think that station ran a megawatt
pulse power. 73
