| my .02 Having helped get Building/structure permits in three different
states PA,NJ,DE.
I have found its unlikely At least in my experience dealing with Township or
City permit offices.
A few had the blank expression when " Radio Tower " was inserted in line # (
description of structure)
You have to do your due diligence.. As for Realtors ... = salesman ... some
go the extra mile to insure you concern .. My present location we had a
stipulation in the agreement of sale requiring the ability to obtain
building permits for multi towers up to 150 ft.
   YMMV

This is all good advice and very true regarding getting three different
answers from three people. I would not ask anything until I read the
building codes or had an attorney look at them. Don't most counties and
cities have the building codes online?

Sounds like fun. I would certainly recommend my UP THE TOWER book.
It's got 2 chapters on the legal implications. championradio.com for more
info.
But the first thing I would suggest is going to city/county hall and
getting a copy of the building regs. Then you'll know EXACTLY what the
building codes want. Of course this is in addition to any CC&R's that
apply.
In
the case of farm country in Kansas, it's probably a non-issue.
The problem with asking the building department questions is that they
probably haven't encountered a tower application before. And my experience
has been that if you ask 3 people in the building department for answers,
you'll likely get 2-3 different answers.
