What antenna are you using for the repeater? A few years back there was a
similar problem on a 2 meter repeater in the LA area. After climbing the
tower to the 160 ft level of the antenna, and putting a bird watt meter in
line and havin gthe antenna check out fine, i tried moving thigs and tapping
things around the antenna and on the tower. Came to the conclusion the
antenna was the cause. It was a Phelps-Dodge Super Station Master and the
solder connections inside had become intermittant over several years. We
replaced it with a new one anf the problems disappeared.
