Interesting question. I'd want to have an anchor that would hold the
3/16" guy load. Since the breaking strength is about 4000 pounds, that would
be my screw-in capacity. The one Rohn offers is only rated at 2500 pounds.
There are 8 classifications of soil all with different ratings so you'd have
determine which one you have. Then go through the calculations, etc.
My recommendation is to get the "Encyclopedia of Anchoring" by the
Chance Co. They make and install earth anchors and it will answer all of
your questions. You can reach them at 314-682-5521. All of the informatiion
mentioned above is in it. It'll make a great addition to your reference
library.
