[TowerTalk] OR2800 rotator: AC or DC motor?

I acquired a used rotator that looks
like an OR2800.  I notice that the M2
web site says "New:  DC motor".  Does
the use of the term "new" mean that
older OR2800's had AC motors?  If so,
how can I tell which kind of motor it has?
