I've always thought it would be interesting to use a short piece of the
nycoil bracketed to the tower just below the top of the tower and pass the
antenna coax through the nycoil to reduce the stress on the coax but it has
never been a problem...the coax has always outlasted the antennas,...;-)
The up and down stretch of the nycoil with LMR inside seems to be much less
of an issue than the twist-turn that would be experienced on a rotating
mast.
