converted)
I have to believe there is more to it than just thickness. 88 is available
in different thicknesses as well. Super 88 is thinner than regular 88 from
what I remember, as is Super 33+ to regular 33... someone correct me if
I'm wrong.

Donnie - It's great talking to a large audience! 33+ is our premium
vinyl tape. It has a 7 mil thickness. It is highly comformable in all
weather applications, resists UV rays, abrasion, corrosion, akalies and
acids. Both tapes have a temperature rating of 220F (130C). Both are
used as a primary insulation for splices up to 600V and are also used as
a protective jacketing. 88 tape has a 8.5 mil thickness. The added
thickness is conducive for faster buildup. It is described as an all
weather, heavy duty, abrasion resistant tape. With the 88 you should
gain mechanical strenght but will not be as comformable. Let me know if
I can be of further help.
Thanks,
Holly
This is straight from the horses mouth folks. Notice that 3M makes no
claim to the 88 being UV resistant.
