Well guys, my mind has been made up. When I order the new HF antenna from JK, I will
add the 6 meter, 5 element beam to the order. Funny, but when you go on their website
they only show the 7 element with a 30 ft boom and a giant 10 element. Spoke to Ken at
JK. He said they make a 5 element on a 15 ft. boom, they just don’t advertise
it. Their construction looks A+. That plus the 6BA JK will go on my US Tower
HDX572MDPL.
I always wondered about the square booms and metric hardware on the Innov. Here
on Long Island there has been an increase in general wind velocities. Hopefully
this winter will be more snow and less ice!

What brand to choose? I?ve been holding my tongue for a long time but here
goes. The answer is in this evidence: My direct observation of 10 Innovantenna
Yagis with 10 complete failures. No, make that 11/10 after one boom broke for
the second time. And have you ever heard of a boom bending and failing
SIDEWAYS? Ask W6TCP, who had four 22 element 2m X-pols do exactly that. Then
his quad 70cm array had 2 booms break and a glorious scattering of elements on
the ground. And two 6m LFAs with snapped booms. What a bunch of junk. BTW I got
$8 at the scrap dealer for a 5L 6m.
Now it?s JK all the time. Or M Squared if JK doesn?t offer it. Some models from
Antennas-Amplifiers are also ok but others have crappy boom couplings. Square
metric tubing. No thank you.
