On open line, I use a pair of Jennings SPST vacuum relays located a short 
distance from the house and remoted back to the shack.

The relays form an "automatic knife switch" and are powered from a DC wall 
supply that's plugged into current-sensing AC outlet strip.  The rig is 
plugged into the sense outlet.  Accordingly, when the rig is turned on, the 
relays close.  When the rig is turned off, the relays open.
