Easy way to paint is with a sheepskin covered mitt. Just dig in the
bucket and
wipe away ...
No one will judge the job for neatness (like paint on guys, etc) just
don't do home,
autos, people and pets!
Holidays (missed area) will stand out a lot worse than drips on guys.

Not saying it's right, per se, but that seems to be the standard.
I can't see how painting the feedline would hurt it. It should protect it
from UV, actually!
