hmph! I was given the understanding while reading a battery store
advert, that NiMh discharge at the rate of about 2% per day or week?
but that more expensive LOW discharge will remain at 85%.
iow, the batteries could be fully charged, tossed into your sock
drawer and they would discharge by themselves.
I know that my Canon battery packs certainly run down by themselves.
while sitting in my camera bag. those are BP 512 or somesuch.
I like the idea of the blank plug IF there is actual drainage with the
unit turned off. that raised rim around the red button makes it
rather difficult to turn it on OR OFF for that matter<G>
