ROHN is very specific about NOT drilling out bolt holes due to too much
galvanizing, or any other method that will remove galvanizing. We use
taper pin punches to open up bolt holes. For a tower leg I'd get some
one to turn a mandrill of the proper size, grease it up and drive it in.
Make sure it has some sort of handle to allow pulling it back out. The
same is true for the leg that slides in. You'd need a mandrill of the
proper size that slides over it. Again, grease it up and drive it on.
Make sure there are no sharp edges that will remove galvanizing.
ROHN 45 is very difficult to put together on the ground. I use a rubber
hammer to tap against the tower legs and the pieces just dropped in place.
