Don't know what you're using, nor the configuration of the original
tuner's selector switch, but in the case of the SA-2060, it is easily
re-wired so that you remove the ability to go to a dummy load and make it
become a "bypass" switch, feeding the coax without going through the tuner.
Originally, on the SA-2060, bypass meant you went to a 3rd SO239 on the
tuner's back.
When I built my SA2060, this looked pretty dumb to what I would ever need
or use,
so I wired it, making the front panel selector switch do, as follows:
BYPASS means you feed coax connector 1 straight thru.
COAX 1 means you feed connector 1 with the tuner.
COAX 2 means you feed connector 2 with the tuner. (I never use this)
All that was required was making the connections to the switch slightly
different from the original intent.
I have another SA-2060 on it's way to me via UPS, and I am gonna re-wire it
to be the same configuration. Not being able to flip the tuner "in" and
"out" at will, is a real pain, I am sure.
