[TowerTalk] Shunt Feeding Tower for 80 Meters

[DavenportME@Npt.NUWC.Navy.Mil (Davenport Malcolm E CONT NPRI)]

I am looking to shunt feed a BX-64 tower with a 20 meter beam on top of it
for 80 meters. I plan to use an Omega match to for feeding, but I have the
following questions. The tower is tapered, so do I keep the match parallel
to the tower or do I make it vertical (not parallel to the tower) ? Also,
will the beam pattern be effected by which side of the tower that I put the
match on ?
