Can the influence of a tower in the near field of an 80m array really
be removed by detuning the tower?
Here's the situation: I am contemplating an 80m vertical array but
because of logistics it must beam directly through my 140 ft. tower
(with uninsulated guys). The closest element of the array is about
150 ft. from the tower. It is somewhat closer to the guywires. Maybe
125 ft.
I know that there are methods of detuning a tower to make it
invisible but I'd like to hear how affective it really is. Can those
of you who have done this provide any anecdotal evidence one way or
the other?
Thanks.
