I only recently acquired one of these and haven't put it in service yet.
Since I got it at a hamfest, the only documentation I have is on this great
link from K7MEM, https://k7mem.com/Proj_RCS4.html
Mine is the "older" type. I'm going out on a limb and assuming what he labeled
"RFC-2" or "L201" (depending on model) in the relay box is what you're calling
"RFC-1." Correct me if I'm wrong. In either case, if his value is correct,
the reactance is about 1100 ohm at 1.8 MHz. But, we don't know the Q. Assume
it's 10, then Rp is about 12Kohm and Pdiss is 4 Watts or so if I did the math
correctly. I would expect the choke to survive. But all of this assumes a 1KW
into a 50 ohm load. If the load is highly reactive, and the TX doesn't
foldback, the load voltage could be much higher. Then, who knows?

Hi Guys,
I've gotten a lot of good use out of Ameritron RCS-4 Remote Coax Switches.
However, I keep smoking RFC-1 and wonder if you can recommend a Heavy Duty
replacement for RFC-1 that I'm less likely to smoke when running a KW? Thanks!
