Jack and all,
I had the same thing happen with the R45 version IIX side mount. The
rotor shelf kept twisting on the tower leg. It really needs a brace to
go to the other legs of the tower. Or maybe I am just overloading it
with my 4 ele 20. My fix was to put two angle iron braces above and
below the two IIX plates, the rotor shelf and the top bearing plate. I
drilled holes for ubolts for the tower legs and a 2 inch Ubolt to losely
capture the 2 inch mast in the rotor. I tried one brace first and still
had problems so went two two. Now it stays put in the biggest of
winds.
