Jeff,
I had a KLM 4el "Big Sticker" 40 meter and was plagued with insulators
deteriorating in the heat and ultra violet of the Arizona sun. I made some
Lexan insulators that worked ok.
I finally gave up though on that antenna and built a full size 40. Really a
big difference. The old KLM was when turned into a 3 element 30 meter beam.
