Maybe I've just been lucky, but all I did was to rotate the rotator to
one stop and wrap the coax several times around the mast fairly loiosely
- turning the rotator to the opposite stop then loosens the winding but
doesn't present any kind of a loop to snag or rub on anything. I have
done it this way for 25 years without a single failure, using either
RG-8 and (most recently) LMR-400 without any casing.
