I have never had good luck with Hy-Gain tips but fortunately I have
only used these for temporary contest antennas. I used to buy Ø7/16
6061 with a .048? wall from Metal-Cable - KE8QM. I wanted to buy more
a couple of years ago but David said that he retired and I never found
it for a reasonably price online. I would try commercial suppliers
such as Central Steel and Wire or Ryerson. If you find a supplier
please post your results.
