I'm not so sure that you do either. :) There is leakage, there is
stray inductance, and there is a series loss component. ALL of these
factors are at play, not just one.
FWIW -- I posted the original question, which was, if I'm looking
for 0.027 (j 40 at 1.825 MHz), what caps will work at 1.5 kW. The
series/parallel combo of eight 0.0027 400V dipped micas that I
cobbled together worked just fine for 27 hours during ARRL 160.
Would a nice vacuum cap give me less loss? You betcha! Did I have
one? Nope. Used what I had. Worked. Will I pursue a vacuum cap.
