What is the green/yellow coating that's on every piece of rebar that goes
into highway jobs, zinc/chromate?
The outdoor sign guys who use "H" beams in concrete for their billboard
supports paint the beams top to bottom before they pour any concrete into
the base. The coating is indeed black but it may not be a coaltar
product. When the job is done they put a more cosmetically pleasant paint
on what ever is above grade.
