Atlanta based JM Tull (now Ryerson) sold thick walled 20 foot pieces of aluminum tubing for use as masts. I saw the specs and they matched the heavy strength steel masts and weigh less than 1/2 so they are easier to mount. The price was higher so you had a trade off.
