(No, I don't mean a 6' long 8-legged creature!)
After moving into this house over a year ago, I am just now getting my shack
together an the antennas back up.
I wonder which would be a better setup:
ARX2B vert mounted on top of the TA-33 at 40', which would put the tip of the
antenna at about 55', or
A1483S mounted below the TA-33 which would put it at about 37'.
I know that the beam is almost 3db more in gain than the vert and I already
have the vert. The beam would cost $70.
I already have the vert up on a seperate 30'push-up with disappointing results.
I live about 45 miles NW of Tampa and with the present setup, I have lots of
trouble hearing/talking to repeaters in the Tampa area.
I would not mind spending the $70 for the beam if I knew that it would do what
I wanted.
Your thoughts and comments will be appreciated!
