I've done this twice, once with a self supporting and once with a guyed
tower. Generally the best way to do it is to attach the 1st above-ground
section to whatever you're going to be using as a base, set it in the hole,
build the rebar cage around it, and then guy the assembly from the top of
the 1st section to the ground using screw-in anchors from the hardware
store. Make sure you've leveled everything, and that the guys are tight,
BEFORE the pour. Then as soon as the pour is complete but before it starts
to harden, recheck the leveling to make sure the pour hasn't shifted
anything. Do not remove the temporary guys you used for this process until
at least a week after the pour.
