Forget EMT, forget stainless steel (unless you really need stainless for
some reason). Aluminum would be ok, but do the math. Check your wind load
and be sure the aluminum will handle it. Most long, strong masts are .250
wall, galvanized 4130 Chrom-Moly steel. .250 wall, galvanized 1026 DOM
(Drawn Over Mandrel) is also popular but not as strong. If you are just
putting a little tribander a foot above the thrust bearing you could even
use galvanized pipe. You actually have a lot of choices but you need to
figure out what strength you need and go from there.
What will be your configuration (antenna wind area and height above the
tower)?

Subject: [TowerTalk] TOWER MAST - WHAT DO YOU THINK IS BEST
I am installing a beam on a tower and am wondereing what you think is best
for a 2" O.D. Mast.
1/4" wall Aluminum
Stainless Steel
Galvanized
Electrical EMT is measured in I.D. not O.D. so that is a problem for 2" O.D.
because 2" EMT is more than 2" O.D.
