My local Lowe's stopped selling #16 insulated wire less than a year ago.
The smallest they carry now is #14. But, when they did have it, it was $20
per 500 foot roll.
There is an electric supply store accross the street that used to sell it
for $16 per roll but they have since gone up to $18. But, last time I
bought 60 rolls and they gave me a nice discount. That place is a small
chain in the VA/WV area, but perhaps you can find a similar place near you
that will discount a decent quantity.
I checked around online and was not able to find a better price, especially
when you factor in the shipping.
