Nope. Yaesu uses DC motors and simply reverses polarity to change direction.
The voltage is varied to allow speed adjustment and the controller on the
preset models drops the voltage to the minimum a few degrees before the
preset point is reached. Pretty slick. I'm betting its a cable problem.
