Has anyone looked at tuning the 3-el SteppIR so it would change from
monopole to 2 to 3 elements? That way one could switch from
omni-directional to a tight beam as the need arises.

Thanks, Jim. Your arguments are very persuasive, especially since you have
actually owned both antennas. I'm now leaning in the direction of the 3-el
SteppIR.
