I have Model 808 remote coax switch. I have had a problem with swr over 2.0
using a Force 12 multiband antenna, i.e., two feed lines, one for 17/15 and
another for 12/10. Initially, everything worked as advertised using
positions 7 and 8. Then, things started to go wrong. HIgh swr, low signal
strength on received signals, etc. Yesterday I climbed the tower with Autek
and confirmed that both antenna feed lines were ok, swr's ok, no shorts when
wiggling connectors, etc. I moved the coax connectors to two unused
positions, 1 and 2. Initially, everything worked great, then 12/10m started
acting up again, i.e., high swr (over 3 to 1). I have not "hot switched"
any of the positions and have not had lightning strikes. In Northern San
Diego county we rarely have electrical storms.
My questions: anyone else had positive or negative results with Dunestar
switch? Would the length of the feed lines to the antennas from the switch
box have any effect?
Have older "MLY" mechanical switch box in reserve, maybe I should just
reinstall it.
Any advice would be appreciated.
73 Tom
