I haven't seen this aspect of the subject covered - the impact on "the other
station."
Say I am a little pistol in NJ, and I try to work a station with a big signal
out on the west coast. He's having trouble with me so he switches to a remote
receiver in VA and picks me up. I THINK I've just worked the west coast, but
in reality my signal only went 200 miles. If this happens enough I might
decide not to improve my transmit antenna, or the rest of my station. Don't we
all suffer a little as a result?
