If you're considering a low band loop RX antenna you should just try anything that your space and circumstances allow. All loops are just a variation on a theme subject to interactions you likely have limited ability to control. The same antenna may be amazing one day and a dud the next. Phased loops are yet another variation. This article on ground independent loops may prove of interest: E.
