I scanned the band searching specifically for NA stations on and off for at
least six hours during the CQ 160M contest. The only NA stations I heard, I
found within the first hour of the contest. They were K9DX and N0IN, both of
whom were quite strong. I worked those two very easily. After that, I only
heard lots of Europeans and a couple of Africans. I even went so far as to
check the DX-Summit to find where some of the "big guns" in the USA were
operating and listened carefully at those frequencies, but I had no further
success in hearing NA stations.
