try to check the receiving loop antennas as follows:
- highly recommended is K9FD version inspired by ARRL Antenna Book (i.e. 1982)

I used for mni years own ver. where the loop was made by aluminium tube 1m
diam. only with 5 wounds of isolated wire inside in parallel with 1500pF
variable cap. and FET pre-amplifier. Even so small loop had significant
bi-directional diag. and good S/N ratio.
