JA1HQT had a nice signal into MD Thursday morning on 1905 KHz. Heard him
quite well with the vertical and even on the NW EWE, which surprised me.
He worked a number of stations in the north eastern U.S. as well as W4DR
in VA. Signals seemed to peak 5-10 minutes before our 11:40Z DC area sunrise.
This opening to JA is early in the season. Lets hope its one of many over-the-
pole openings on the Top Band.
This Friday morning was a bust here on 160M with the K-Index at 6 and the
early UTC 7 Nov aurora. Steve, VK6VZ had a FB signal on 80M after sunrise
on CW, but other VKs on 3798 SSB were down from normal levels it seemed.
The only other thing of note is my working 160M QRP country #61, FP/N8CC
last week. Still stuck at 158 with 100 Watts and eagarly await the upcoming
VK9, 5A & other Top Band DX-pedition efforts.
