W0FLS: Key clicks are probably the single worst problem we have with new radios. My TS-830 seems to have a good keying waveform, but the new, (expensive) FT-847 does not ... it is quite square, and while I haven't yet determined what it sounds like from a moderate distance, my guess is "square is not cool." It has a million "features," most of which I have yet to fully comprehend, but then, how long has knowledge of proper keying waveshapes been around? Fred K6DGW |
