I hope you are using a Ten Tec supply. It sounds like you are not. A Ten Tec supply would trip its internal breaker at that SWR. If you are not using a Ten Tec supply I would highly suggest an inline Airpax breaker. You got lucky this time but don't count an being lucky forever. I do not think you did any damage yet. Look up past post on the reflector regarding the proper Airpax breaker to use with non Ten Tec supplies.
