Leonard, Out of curiosity, is your fan blowing in or out? Lo these many years ago, I put an exhaust fan on the back of my HRO-50 (Hank Pfizenmayer will remember it as the one used at W4VIV/W4RXK in the Greater Cincinnati area in the early 50's). I taped up the vent louvers on the back of the receiver and wound up pulling in cool air through the holes behind some of the knobs, around the plug-in coil drawer, and so on. It cut down the slow, warm-up drift almost completely.
