This is taking into account only dollars -- not features. If you're going
to scale dollars, shouldn't we scale the state of the art too? In 1978 the
Triton may have represented the best of available technology. For $2,343
today, a Triton looks pitiful because today state of the art is DSP, LCD,
dual RX, CPU, etc.
In short, as costs go up due to inflation over time, the benefit is that we
get a lot more in terms of technology, convenience, power, performance, etc.
