Agreed, but without the roofing filters I doubt the receiver performance will be close to the claimed specifications.

I wish it had more than 3 filter slots. If you want SSB/AM/FM modes
available you have no room left for any narrow SSB or CW filters.

Everyone keeps trying to add cost to a radio that many think is already
overpriced.

The Omni VI didn't do FM. I never used mine on AM.

Even back in the old days, we replaced the Drake R4C's wide front end filter with a 2.4 kHz Sherwood filter (or 500 Hz for CW) to improve the radio for
contest modes, and then it couldn't do AM anymore.

Buy a different Radio with more slots. There are plenty out there to choose
from.
