Not a waste of time. TT builds rigs that they are convinced will sell
because they listen to their existing and potential customer base. They are
in the business to make money and offer, in that regard, a competitive
product. Ham radio is such a specialized field, and with the three Japanese
providers, a very competitive one, EXCEPT for the price of the equipment.
At some point TT will calculate that there is sufficient market potential
for a less expensive rig (and have gained enough experience with quality
rigs. i.e. OMNI) to allow them to design and market a rig with out flaws
and using all the latest technology.
