Above 600 volts, it is better to use a dedicated High voltage probe to measure tube linear amplifier power supplies. In any high voltage measurement, it is best to do it hands off. Ie, clip a short lead to the probe and to the test point, so you are not touching the probe with power on. Most scopes have the maximum voltage rating for the chassis indicated near the vertical input channels. Do get a manual or specification sheet for complete information. Safety First!
