For SSB operation, what numbers do you find most effective on the
NR setting and also the AN function? Also, what artifacts do you
observe with these activated?
The radio performance is outstanding in my book and I really enjoy
using it. I've not come across anything that is of concern, find
it easy to use, and enjoy the new features. It seems quite solid.
Transmit audio is reported "the best I've heard on the band". I
use a SSB TX bandwidth of 3000, the TX Roll off at 200 Hz. and TX
Equalizer at -6 dB. Those settings with the 708A mike get great
results.
I'd like to hear of your findings, settings and results.

Same deal here. Compared to my OMNI C and A, the no signal noise is
quite high. I also agree that when we activate either the NR or NB the
signal becomes a little distorted. It is especially noticeable on CW.
Using the OMNI C I always had to turn the volume way up while tuning the
resonator to see if the receiver was even working. I also have a
Pegasus and the NR and NB on that rig seem to be much better in not
distorting the received signal. I also notice the distortion when using
the fast AGC and sometimes the medium AGC. I think it is just something
we have to live with with a DSP receiver. I have found that if I reduce
the RF gain it becomes a little more tolerable to listen to the band
with no signals present. Can't wait to try her out in a CW contest to
see what happens there.
