Sounds to like a symptom of a leaking coupling capacitor or a noisy transistor. Cleary before the audio gain control. Resistors occasionally fail in a noise producing mode. Time for some signal tracing with sensitive scope or the old fashioned signal tracer (diode detector and lots of audio gain). 73, Jerry, K0CQ -- FAQ on WWW: http://www.contesting.com/tentecfaq.htm Submissions: tentec@contesting.com Administrative requests: tentec-REQUEST@contesting.com Problems: owner-tentec@contesting.com Search: http://www.contesting.com/km9p/search.htm |
